1. LOCATION
Cabanglasan is geographically located at east longitude 125 degrees 27 minutes and North latitude 8 degrees and 3 minutes. It is located at the eastern part of the province of Bukidnon; 35 km away from Malaybalay City, the Provincial Capital, and 115 km away from Cagayan de Oro City, the regional center. It is bounded in the North and West by the City of Malaybalay and the South by the Municipality of San Fernando, Bukidnon; and in the East by the Province of Agusan del Sur.
2. LAND AREA
Cabanglasan has a total area of 26, 230 hectares of which 38% is Alienable and Disposable (A&D) land and 62% is timberland. It is 2.525 of the total provincial area and 0.74% of the regional area.

3. LAND AND
TOPOGRAPHY
Cabanglasan is situated in the Bukidnon-Lanao Plateau, which
is bounded on the north by the Macajalar Bay, on the West by the Misamis
Volcanic Complex, on the East by the Central Mindanao Cordillera and on the
South by the upper slopes of Cotabato valley.
Cabanglasan has flat to undulating ground in its central part,
surrounding this portion are sedimentary, volcanic and up thrusted
promotontories forming a huge basin at center.
There are two main river systems in the municipality, the
Pulangui and Bobonawan River systems. Pulangui river principally drains the
eastern part of Cabanglasan and discharge into the Lalabugan Bay in Cotabato
City on the southwest. Bobunawan River drains to Pulangui River from the
northwest to southwest of Cabanglasan.
4. SLOPE
The major part of the municipality is classified under slope
class 8 to 15 percent. Where such areas are found, it is contiguous to level
areas, identified as water-retaining areas potentially suited to intensive
palay production. Along its North, East,
West and South boundaries is slope clas 30% and above, these are hilly and
mountainous areas ae declared as forestall.
Cabanglasan has an elevation of 465 meters above sea level.
a. Soil Type
Cabanglasan is
generally covered with undifferentiated mountain soils. It can be observed that soils in hilly areas
are loose, deep brown color, and friable and brittle when dry.

Geologic Structures
One of the notable
faults in Cabanglasan is the Tagoloan Fault.
It is a 40 km northwest trending high angle fault. It traverses the eastern section of the
town. This fault greatly influences the
course of Tagoloan River in northeastern Bukidnon.

In 1980, a regular census on population and housing was
conducted nationwide, wherein Cabanglasan had an actual population count of
16,843. In 1990, the population grew to
26,351, an increase of 9,508 caused by the presence of the two logging
companies, the T.H. Valderrama and Talakag Timber Incorporated. In 1995, Cabanglasan has a population of
29,228 or an increase of 11.15%. Year
2000, Cabanglasan has a population of 32,305 or an increase of 10.30%. In 2007,
the population is 32,817 or an increase of 0.23% only. Year 2008 Cabanglasan has a population of
35,149 or an increase of 7.11%.
In 2010, the population grew to 36, 247 or an increase of
1.56%. On the over all, the population count in the Municipality increased at
an average growth rate of 1.65%. Another factor of this population increase is
the in migration and the progress and development of this municipality, such as
road accessibility to the different barangays and sitios, farm modernization,
electrification and the coming of small and medium investors to establish their
business in the Poblacion.
6. POPULATION GROWTH
The population growth rate of the Municipality of
Cabanglasan from 1990 to 1995 is 2.00% or 0.214 decimal, from 1995 to 2000 is
2.06% and from 2000 to 2007 is only 0.23%. With a population growth rate of
1.94%, it is projected that Barangay Poblacion is geared towards
urbanization. Considering its population
growth rate per annum of 1.94%, it is projected that this barangay will have a
population of 6,096 in 2011.
7. LITERACY
According to the 2010 Survey of the National Statistics Office, a greater percentage of illiterates are within the ages 60 and above, in both rural and urban areas. In the urban area, only 5% of ages 10-14 are illiterate (these ages are supposedly in the secondary level of education).
In the rural areas, out of 4,160 persons in the same age
bracket, only 8.28% of them are illiterate.
Although this is not serious, this problem can be attended to through an
adult educational program.
The highest educational attainment of a big
percentage of the population within the age of seven years and above is only
elementary level or elementary graduate.
Those ages 13 to 19 that have a total of 5,841 are potential ages of our
population to supposedly enroll in the secondary level or high school.
